Backup Servicing for Factoring: Welcome, Goya Finance

Factoring platforms grow by buying receivables quickly. The capital behind them stays only if someone can keep servicing that book when the platform itself cannot. In backup servicing for factoring, that second part has moved from nice-to-have to a condition of funding.
Goya Finance AG is one of the platforms building with that in mind. Credibur is Goya's backup servicer and also handles borrower reporting and portfolio calculations for its facility. So Goya does not have to think about it, and the capital provider gets verified data.
What Goya Finance is building
Goya is a German factoring platform that is digital-first, with AI-driven underwriting across healthcare, mobility and SME receivables, plus Factoring as a Service for other businesses. The design goal is simple: the end client should never notice the complexity behind the purchase of an invoice.
That complexity does not disappear. It moves into the facility that funds the receivables, where every purchase has to be reported, checked and accounted for.
Why backup servicing for factoring is a funding condition
Factoring books turn over fast. Invoices are bought, collected and replaced within weeks. If the servicer stops, collections stop with it, and the capital provider loses sight of what it funded within days, not months. That is why capital providers increasingly want a backup servicer in place before they release money.
Many backup arrangements still exist mainly on paper. A cold backup receives the data only after something has gone wrong, which is exactly when that data is least reliable. Our whitepaper on backup servicing in Europe goes through the gap between standby on paper and standby in practice.
How Credibur runs it for Goya
Credibur runs as a hot backup. The portfolio is mirrored continuously rather than reconstructed under stress, and activation is tested in advance, so taking over servicing is a planned step. Credibur does not originate, lend or collect for its own account. Its only job in the structure is continuity, which keeps the role independent.
Next to standby, the same data feeds borrower reporting and the portfolio calculations the facility depends on. The originator does not build a second operations team for its capital provider, and the capital provider works from figures that someone other than the originator has calculated. More on that role in what a calculation agent does in structured finance.
Looking ahead
As more factoring volume moves into structured facilities, the operational layer becomes part of what capital providers underwrite. Platforms that can show it working from day one will raise more easily than those that promise it in the contract.
